Day 6 - Thursday, August 25, 2022 - Skagway
Ship arrived in Skagway at 7 but we didn't have our excursion until 11:30 so we had a leisurely morning. Ate breakfast and then dressed in our rain gear to be ready for the day. We have clearly lucked out with the weather. It was supposed to be rainy and although it sprinkled briefly, the rest of the day was great as it was the previous 2 days. We walked from the ship downtown and found our tour stop. Dennis told us we could have a free upgrade to a slightly longer tour and we agreed. We were early so walked around a bit until it was time to take the bus up to White Pass Summit. It was a pretty ride and the fog lifted so we could see the scenery. We had to pass through Canadian customs as this was part of British Columbia. We even went as far as the entrance to the Yukon territory. Got back at 2 and did some window shopping and bought an ice cream. On our way to the ship we ran into Tom and Lorraine who said there was a line to get on the ship so we stopped at the brewery and had a drink with them. Went back to the ship to rest up before dinner. Had another delicious dinner- French onion soup, tri tip, and Pavlova with strawberries while Ron had the soup, crab fritters, calves liver(yuck) and a sundae. Then we went to our usual evening activity- to the piano bar with Ian and Collin. It is really enjoyable to listen to them.
